الإصابة الرياضية تمثل حدا فاصلا في حياة الرياضي ، و تهديدا مباشرا للمجمل من حياته و حضوره في الحقل الذي برز فيه . لا شك أن الحقل الرياضي بات يشكل حلما لجميع الشباب ، باعتبار ما يمكن أن يتحصل عليه النجم الرياضي من الأموال و المكانة و المعجبين و الحضور الاجتماعي . لكن هذا البريق يبقى خاضعا لأحوال المفاجئات تلك التي تأتي على حين غرة ، ما بين مزاجية المدرب و طبيعة العلاقة القائمة ما بين أعضاء الفريق ، و عدم التوفيق في النتائج في البعض من المواسم . فيما يبقى التهديد الأهم و قد تركز في الإصابة تلك التي تعني النهاية لحياة الرياضي برمتها . لا يتوقف الأمر عن الإصابة البدينة تلك التي تعيق حركة الرياضي ، إنما الأهم يتبدى في التراجع لمستوى الرياضي بناء على الأوضاع النفسية التي تلم به . فكم من النجوم البارزين فقدتهم الملاعب و الميادين بسبب التراجع الذي نال منهم لأسباب غير مفهومة ، و بقيت عصية على الفهم من قبل الجميع . فيما بقي العامل النفسي مبعدا عن التشخيص أو القراءة .
